Gyeongju Day Trip from Seoul: Ancient Capital Without the Luggage
Korea’s open-air museum — send your bags ahead and explore freely
Gyeongju is one of the most remarkable cities in Asia — the former capital of the Silla Kingdom for nearly 1,000 years, it’s packed with royal tombs, Buddhist temples, and ancient ruins. UNESCO designated the city and surrounding Gyeongju National Park as a World Heritage Site. It’s often called “the museum without walls.” And it’s best experienced completely hands-free.
Getting from Seoul to Gyeongju
Take the KTX from Seoul Station to Singyeongju Station (approximately 2 hours). From there, take a taxi or bus into central Gyeongju (15-20 minutes). Alternatively, buses depart from Express Bus Terminal in Gangnam and take around 3.5 hours.
