When do you actually need a padded jacket in Seoul?
Seoul winters are colder than many visitors expect. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration’s 1991–2020 climate normals, Seoul’s average daily temperature is 7.5°C in November, 0.2°C in December, −2.0°C in January and 0.7°C in February, and the average January low is −5.5°C. Wind along the Han River and between high-rise blocks makes it feel colder still.
- November: a lightweight padded jacket over a sweater is usually enough during the day.
- December to February: this is long-padding season. You will see knee-length padded coats everywhere — they keep your thighs warm while you wait for buses or walk palace grounds.
- Sizing: Korean clothing is often labelled by chest size in cm — for men 95 ≈ M, 100 ≈ L, 105 ≈ XL; for women 85 ≈ S, 90 ≈ M, 95 ≈ L. Brands vary, so send us your height, weight and usual size and we pick the closest fit (long padding is often cut roomy so it fits over a hoodie).

FAQ — buying a winter jacket in Seoul
Can I get a jacket delivered today?
No. Clothing orders paid by 10:00 PM KST arrive at your hotel the next day. If you need something warm tonight, layer up and visit a nearby shop; our service saves you the shopping trip for tomorrow onwards.
What if my size is sold out?
We suggest an equivalent jacket in your size first and only order once you agree. If nothing suitable is available, we tell you before you pay.
Can I return the jacket if it doesn’t fit?
Returns follow the selling store’s return policy, and the item usually has to be unworn with tags. Our service fee is non-refundable. That is why we confirm your measurements before ordering.
Will my hotel accept the parcel?
Most hotels hold parcels under the guest’s check-in name. Deliveries arriving before your check-in date can be refused by some hotels, so we check your dates first. For Airbnbs we need the full address and your host’s cooperation.
